Die Tempelanlage Wat Xienthong am Mekong, wurde 1560 unter König Setthathirath erbaut und 1960–1962 restauriert. Als einziger Tempel der Stadt überstand er die Plünderung von 1887 unversehrt. Der Baustil mit dem fast bis auf den Boden reichenden Dach ist typisch für das nördliche Laos. |
